This is one of my favourite casseroles. It has an Asian inspired flavour. You can use any cheap cut of beef, as the slow cooking makes the meat so tender it almost melts in your mouth.
Ingredients: 700g (1.5lbs) stewing beef, cut into 2-cm (1 inch) cubes ½ cup water ¼ cup soy sauce ¼ cup brown sugar 2 tbsp flour 1 tbsp sesame oil 3 tsp crushed garlic 1 tsp beef stock powder
Method: • Place the beef in the slow cooker. • Mix the remaining ingredients in a jug and pour over the beef. • Stir to combine. • Cook on low for 6–8 hours. • Serve with rice or creamy mashed potatoes.
