Warm and comforting, this recipe has all the flavours of home. This is an easy version of a family classic that has stood the test of time.
Ingredients Filling 4 apples, cored, peeled and sliced ¹/3 cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon
Topping 1 cup rolled oats 1 cup flour ½ cup brown sugar 100g (4oz) butter, melted
Method: • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 20 cm (8 inch) square ovenproof dish. • Place the filling ingredients in the dish and mix to combine. • For the topping, mix the oats, flour and brown sugar in a bowl. • Add the butter and combine well. • Sprinkle over the apples. • Bake for 40–45 minutes until bubbling and golden. • Serve with custard, cream or ice cream.
