MAPLE AND CINNAMON POPCORN

Popcorn is a great snack as it is a high-fibre whole grain. It also contains phenolic acids, a type of antioxidant. Because it is puffed with air, popcorn is a very low-calorie snack option.



Ingredients:

I tbsp coconut oil

4 tbsp popping corn

1 tbsp pure maple syrup

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon


Method:

  • Add the coconut oil in a medium saucepan at a medium-high heat.

  • Once melted, stir in the popping corn and cover with a lid.

  • Wait for the popping to start. Turn off the heat when the popcorn is about half popped and wait for the popping to stop before removing the lid.

  • While popcorn is arm, carefully toss in the maple syrup and cinnamon.
